It took me a while but I eventually made it to a JCCA event after 2 years of always being busy when they were on. I had a choice of either JCCA at Tsukuba or the Skyline Festival at Fuji Speedway so I chose JCCA and my friend Danny from FC Autosource headed to Fuji(I will post some of his photos in a seperate post)
Here’s what was waiting for me at Tsukuba…

Same day as the Hellaflush Kansai event at Central circuit, there was a local drag event taking place down the main straight. I took a break from the show to see what kind of cars were running the quarter mile and was fairly suprised at some of the cars I seen…
Not everyday you see a 4 door Hakosuka on the drag strip..

Quick post to introduce a new drift team that will be competing in the Irish Prodrift series this year. The team consists of my good friend Sully and his two friends, David and Brian Egan. David will be running an S14 silvia, Brian in his F20c AE86 and Sully in his new Jzx90(that will debut at round 2).
Here’s an interview with David on the team, cars etc…
Unfortunately Sully’s JZX90 won’t be ready for round 1 but will be debuting at round 2 and you can click on the following link to see the build thread over on DriftIreland http://www.driftireland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24586
I will post more updates on how the lads are doing after round 1 and the progress of Sully’s car in the coming weeks.
Round 1 will take place in Ennis, Co. Clare on April 14/15th
As always, thanks for reading,
Pretty great feeling when you see the cars you have been driving in Gran Turismo for years in real life! I’m personally not a huge fan of the Skyline R33 (GTR being an obvious exception) but the one you see here is just perfect!
Don’t really know where to start with this car, I remember during my early teens playing Gran Turismo for hours on end and being introduced to the world of Japanese racing cars! One car that stuck out more than others back then, was the Calsonic R32 GTR, I don’t know why, but I have loved the car ever since! These were the days before Facebook/flickr/smart phones/ipads and the likes so the only place I got to see cars like this were on my Playstation. So you can understand the feeling I felt when I got to see the car in all it’s glory both in the pits of Fuji Speedway and on the track during last year’s Nismo Festival. The sound these things make is unreal.
Lets get to the pictures…
